The Union government on Wednesday notified the appointment of five advocates as additional judges of the Bombay High Court for two years.

The five advocates are:

  1. Nivedita Prakash Mehta;
  2. Prafulla Surendrakumar Khubalkar;
  3. Ashwin Damodar Bhobe;
  4. Rohit Wasudeo Joshi; and
  5. Advait Mahendra Sethna.

The Supreme Court collegium had recommended their names for elevation on September 24.

The Bombay High Court at present has 28 vacancies out of the sanctioned strength of 94 judges.
