The Calcutta High Court has directed the police authorities to provide security arrangements for Saraswati Puja festivities to be held at Jogesh Chandra Chaudhuri Law College in Kolkata.

Justice Jay Sengupta further directed that the preparations be overseen by a commissioner-level officer and that no outsiders, including those with pending complaints, be allowed the enter the campus during the celebrations.

The court also directed that separate puja's may be held for the law department and other departments of the college and asked the authorities to demolish a pandal which had been illegally constructed on the college campus.

These directions were passed in a plea moved by a group of students of the college who told the court that certain external persons were threatening them against organising the festivities.
