The Chattisgarh High Court on Thursday (August 7) designated three lawyers as senior advocates with immediate effect. 

The notification issued by the High Court's Registrar General states:

"In exercise of powers conferred under Section 16 of the Advocates Act, 1961, read with Rule 7 of the High Court of Chhattisgarh (Designation of Senior Advocates) Rules, 2018 and in pursuance of the Judgment and Order dated 12/10/2017 of the Hon'ble Supreme Court of India in Writ Petition (Civil) No. 454 of 2015 (Ms. Indira Jaising Vs. Supreme Court of India through Secretary General and Ors.), the High Court of Chhattisgarh in its Full Court approval dated 07/08/2025 has resolved to designate the following Advocates as Senior Advocates with immediate effect..."

The advocates designated as Senior Advocates are:

1. Shri Ashok Kumar Varma

2. Shri Manoj Vishwanath Paranjpe

3. Shri Sunil Otwani
