Justice Dr Kumbhajadala Manmadha Rao, who is transferred to the Karnataka High Court from Andhra Pradesh High Court, was on Monday administered the oath by Acting Chief Justice of the High Court, V Kameshwar Rao.

The Central Government had on Thursday (May 1) notified the transfer of The notification issued by the Union Ministry of Law and Justice stated:"In exercise of the power conferred by clause (1) of Article 222 of the Constitution of India, the President, after consultation with the Chief Justice of India, is pleased to transfer Dr. Justice Kumbhajadala Manmadha Rao, Judge, Andhra Pradesh High Court, to be a Judge of the Karnataka High Court and to direct him to assume charge of his office in the Karnataka High Court".

In April the Supreme Court colleguim had recommended the transfer of seven High Court Judges with a view to "infuse inclusivity and diversity" and "to strengthen the quality of administration of justice."
