The Punjab & Haryana High Court Bar Association declared "no working day" for May 9 amid ongoing border tensions and blackout in Chandigarh.

"It is hereby informed to all Hon'ble members of the Bar that, in light of the prevailing sensitive situation and the imminent threat posed by separatist forces, coupled with the ongoing blackout, it has been decided to declare May 9, 2025, as a 'No Work Day,'" stated the Secretary of Punjab and Haryana High Court Bar Association in a notice issued late evening.

The decision has been taken in the interest of ensuring the safety and security of all Bar members, it added.
