Lawyers, employees, and judges of the Punjab & Haryana High Court on working Saturday observed 'Green Commute Day'—an initiative by a group of High Court lawyers known as the 'Feed Goal Team.'

Senior advocates and other lawyers arrived at the High Court in buses especially arranged from various parts of Panchkula and Chandigarh, supporting sustainable commutation.

Chief Justice Sheel Nagu and Justice Deepak Sibal chose to walk from their official residences to the court. Joining them on foot were Justices Lisa Gill, Anupinder Grewal, Suvir Sehgal, Alka Sareen, Alok Jain, Vikas Behl, Namit Kumar, Jagmohan Bansal, Harsh Bunger, Deepak Manchanda, and Rohit Kapoor — each demonstrating their support for an eco-friendly mode of commute.

Justices Vinod Bhardwaj and Aman Chaudhary welcomed and encouraged the lawyers and employees arriving by bus by receiving them at the High Court gate.

The initiative reflected a collective commitment to a more sustainable future. It aimed to encourage commuters to the High Court to lead by example and consider alternative transportation.

The High Court is facing a major parking issue due to the increasing footfall. It recently directed the widening of entrance roads adjacent to the iconic Rock Garden and suggested to designate additional parking space.
