The Punjab and Haryana High Court  on Thursday afternoon was gripped by tension after a bomb threat was received, prompting immediate security measures and the evacuation of courtrooms as a precautionary step.

The High Court Bar Association circulated a noted that "an alert regarding a bomb threat at the Hon'ble High Court has been received."

"All Hon'ble members are kindly requested to remain vigilant. If any suspicious or unattended items are found within the premises, please inform the office of the High Court Bar Association, Chandigarh, immediately," it added.

It  requested the lawyers to vacate the court room immediately as a precautionary measure. Court proceedings will resume after lunch at 2:00 PM.
