HNLU, Raipur Hosts National Conference On Legal And Policy Dimensions Of India's Infrastructure Development
Hidayatullah National Law University (HNLU), Raipur, successfully hosted a One-Day National Conference titled “Exploring India's Infrastructure Landscape: Challenges, Opportunities, and the Road Ahead” on Saturday, April 5, 2025. Conducted in virtual mode, the conference was jointly organized by the Centre for Infrastructure Laws and the Centre for Law and Public Health, both functioning under the School of Law and Public Policy at HNLU.
The event brought together a distinguished panel of scholars, academicians, students, legal professionals, and policymakers from across the country to engage in meaningful dialogue on the evolving landscape of infrastructure development in India. The discussions focused on pressing legal, policy, regulatory, and governance issues shaping the sector.
Shri Sanjay Shukla, Chairman of RERA Chhattisgarh, inaugurated the conference as the Chief Guest. In his address, he stressed the need for a transparent and robust regulatory framework to ensure sustainable infrastructure growth. Dr. Deepak Kumar Srivastava, Registrar (I/c), HNLU, welcomed the participants and highlighted the significance of interdisciplinary academic initiatives in solving real-world policy challenges.
The Conference featured four parallel technical sessions of – regulatory frameworks, public-private partnerships, environmental considerations, and sustainable legal mechanisms for infrastructure development. The deliberations had presenters from various institutes, research scholars, faculty and students with insightful discussions.
The event concluded with the valedictory address of Prof. (Dr.) Ram Kumar Kakani, Director, IIM Raipur. He emphasized the importance of innovative governance and interdisciplinary collaboration in unlocking the potential of India's infrastructure sector.
The event had Dr. Deepak Srivastava, Registrar & Director of School of Law & Governance welcoming the gathering and underscored the relevance of interdisciplinary academic engagements in addressing real-world policy challenges. Prof. (Dr.) Yogendra Kumar Srivastava, Dean(PG) & Director of School of Law & Public Policy in his concluding remarks, lauded the efforts of the organizing centres and encouraged continued exploration at the intersection of law and public policy.
