In a ceremony held today at the High Court of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh, Chief Justice Arun Palli administered the oath of office to Justice Sanjay Parihar and Justice Shahzad Azeem, who have been appointed as Judges of the High Court.

With the elevation of Justice Parihar and Justice Azeem, both promoted from the Higher Judicial Service, the total strength of the High Court now stands at 15 Judges, including the Chief Justice.

The swearing-in took place in the Chief Justice's courtroom at the Jammu wing of the High Court wherein several sitting Judges, including Justice Sindhu Sharma, Justice Rajnesh Oswal, Justice Javed Iqbal Wani, Justice Rahul Bharti, Justice Moksha Khajuria Kazmi, Justice Rajesh Sekhri, and Justice Mohd. Yousuf Wani, attended the ceremony in person.

Justice Sanjeev Kumar, Justice Vinod Chatterji Koul, Justice Sanjay Dhar, and Justice Wasim Sadiq Nargal joined virtually from the Srinagar wing.

Registrar General M.K. Sharma, conducted the proceedings. He read out the official communication from the Ministry of Law & Justice, Government of India, the Warrants of Appointment signed by the President of India, and the Authorization Letter issued by the Lieutenant Governor of Jammu & Kashmir empowering the Chief Justice to administer the oath.

The event was attended by former Chief Justices and Judges of the High Court, senior government officials, representatives from the legal fraternity, including the President and members of the Bar Association Jammu, senior advocates, judicial officers, and members of the civil and police administration.
