A sessions court in Kolkata has remanded three persons including law students Zaib Ahmed and Pramit Mukhopadhyay; and ex-student, practising lawyer and contractual staff at the South Kolkata Law college Manojit Mishra to four days in police custody for the alleged rape of a student studying within the college premises. 

It has been alleged in the complaint that while one of the three committed the act of rape, the others has abetted the crime.

According to the complaint, the victim had come to the college to complete some formalities when she was approached by the accused who took her to a guard room within the campus and raped her between 7pm and 11pm at night on Wednesday.

Based on the victims complaint, the police arrested the three accused and produced them before the Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate (ACJM), Alipore, who remanded them to four days in police custody.
