NUJS Students Seek VC's Resignation Over PoSH Allegations By Faculty Member, Alleged Financial Impropriety

Students of NUJS Kolkata are staging a protest against their incumbent Vice Chancellor, seeking his resignation in light of sexual harassment allegations by a faculty member and alleged financial impropriety.

Although the complaint, filed under the PoSH Act, was dismissed on the grounds of limitation by both the Calcutta High Court and Supreme Court, the SC had asked the VC to include it's order on his resume so that the incident “haunts” him forever. 

In the aftermath of the SC order, students across the college organised demonstrations all over the campus, demanding that the VC resigns.

“The continued silence from the administration only deepens our concern and undermines trust,” a statement from the students read. 

Live Law had reached out to the VC's office for a comment on the issue, but didn't receive a response.
