The Supreme Court Bar Association has been able to raise more than Rs 43 crores towards the welfare fund of advocates due to the efforts of the SCBA President, Senior Advocate Kapil Sibal.

The funds to the tune of Rs. 43,43,50,001/- crores were raised through the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative and were part of Sibal's campaign mandate during the Presidential elections of SCBA. 

The welfare funds will be utilized for medical claims/ lawyers' insurance as well as for other such benefits for the advocates. 

In acknowledgement of this achievement of the SCBA President, the Friday Group - an academic circle of Supreme Court lawyers founded by Adv G Seshagiri- felicitated Sibal yesterday (April 9) at a meeting in Library 2, Supreme Court Premises.
