After a Full Court held meeting on September 17, the Supreme Court has designated 7 former Chief Justice/Judges of High Courts as Senior Advocates. These include -(1) Sh. After a Full Court held meeting on September 17, the Supreme Court has designated 7 former Chief Justice/Judges of High Courts as Senior Advocates. These include -

(1) Sh. Attau Rahman Masoodi (former Judge, Allahabad High Court),

(2) Sh. Avinash Gharote (former Judge, Bombay High Court),

(3) Sh. D Krishna Kumar (former Chief Justice, Manipur High Court),

(4) Sh. G Ilangovan (former Judge, Madras High Court),

(5) Sh. Jitendra Kumar Chauhan (former Judge, Punjab and Haryana High Court),

(6) Sh. R Subramanian (former Judge, Madras High Court), and

(7) Sh. Virendra Gyansingh Bisht (former Judge, Bombay High Court).

The abovenamed former judges/Chief Justice have been designated as Senior Advocates with effect from September 17, said a notification issued by the top Court today.

Earlier, in April, the Court had conferred senior designation on 6 former High Court Judges, who commenced practice after their retirement from judiciary.
