The Court was dealing with two applications filed in the Fozia Rehman case, wherein directions were passed for reservation of certain posts for women lawyers in the upcoming Delhi High Court and District Bar Associations elections. One of these applications was filed with respect to the Delhi Tax Bar Association and Sales Tax Bar Association, and the other was with respect to an Advocates' Association at Bangalore.
While the Court passed an order directing reservation with regard to the Delhi Tax Bar Association and Sales Tax Bar Association, it only issued notice at this stage with respect to the application relating to Bangalore Advocates' Association.
Prior to this, on January 20, the Court extended the application of its order reserving posts for women lawyers in Delhi's High Court and District Bar Associations to the National Green Tribunal Bar Association in the capital.
