The Supreme Court adjourned the challenge to the Bihar ECI-SIR amid allegations of a “communal approach,” and declined to revive contempt proceedings in the shoe-throwing lawyer incident. The Court also struck down a teacher's dismissal for lack of due process and dismissed Telangana's 42% BC quota plea for breaching the 50% ceiling. Meanwhile, High Courts addressed the forced ritual humiliation of an OBC youth—ordering an NSA probe—and directed a probe (without an SIT) into alleged fake anti-Naxal encounters.
