A PIL has been filed in the SC seeking de-registration of Congress over its “Vote-Chori” campaign. The Court also refused urgent listing of a plea against the Union's 'Umeed Portal', clarifying that the matter will be considered in the Waqf Amendment Act case. In another case, the SC stayed coercive action against The Wire editor and journalist Karan Thapar in an Assam FIR under Section 152 BNS. The Court ordered status quo in the Sambhal Masjid suit till Monday. Meanwhile, the Delhi High Court ruled that a woman has no right to residence under the Domestic Violence Act after divorce unless another statutory right is established.
