Advocate Praveen Kumar Giri Sworn In As A Judge Of Allahabad High Court

Advocate Praveen Kumar Giri was sworn in as Judge of the Allahabad High Court today.
His appointment was notified by the Central Government on January 23. The Supreme Court Collegium had recommended his name in December last year.
With his appointment, the working strength of the High Court now stands at 79 Judges against the sanctioned strength of 160 Judges.
Justice Giri previously worked as an Additional Advocate General, and in the past, he gained significant attention for being the youngest person to hold this position.
Hailing from Azamgarh, he was born on January 20, 1975, to Komal Prasad Giri, a former Warrant Officer in the Indian Army. He received his early education at Janata Inter College in his village. He later pursued a BA, LLB, and LLM from Allahabad University.
2017 the Uttar Pradesh Government appointed him as the Additional Chief Standing Counsel. Subsequently, he was named the Additional Advocate General.
