The Allahabad High Court on Wednesday granted bail to a 20 year old boy accused of liking a video uploaded by a Pakistani citizen on social media and posting 'Pakistan Jindabad' comment.

Granting relief to accused (Jaid), a bench of Justice Arun Kumar Singh Deshwal noted that the he had not mentioned any religious comment or any other comment lowering the dignity and sovereignty of the country.

Briefly put, the accused had moved the HC seeking bail in the case under Sections 152, 115(2), 351(2) BNS. The FIR alleged that he liked a video uploaded by some Pakistani citizen, showing therein that Indian Army in cowardly manner attacked on the Pakistan in the night whereupon the applicant commented 'Pakistan Jindabad'.

His counsel argued that he had mistakenly commented 'Pakistan Jindabad' on the alleged video, however, he did not make any comment on Indian Army and thus, the case would not fall under Section 152 B.N.S.

It was also argued that the applicant is languishing in jail since May 2025. It was further submitted that charge sheet has been filed in the present case, therefore, there is no requirement of custodial interrogation.

Against this backdrop, the Court granted him bail, inter alia, on the condition that he will not upload any objectionable post on social media.
