On April 16, Central Government notified the appointment of Jitendra Kumar Sinha, Anil Kumar-X, Sandeep Jain, Avnish Saxena, Madan Pal Singh, and Harvir Singh as Judges of the High Court. The Supreme Court collegium had recommended the names of 8 Judicial Officers for appointment as Judges of the Allahabad High Court earlier this month. Barring two names, the Central Government had cleared the appointment of all recommendees.

With these 6 judicial officers taking oath, the strength of judges at the Allahabad High Court has risen to 87, excluding the Chief Justice, against the sanctioned strength of 160 judges.

Earlier this month, Justice Yashwant Verma, Justice Arindam Sinha and Justice Chandra Dhari Singh took oath as the judges of the Allahabad High Court upon notification for their transfers by the Central Government.
