The Allahabad High Court today stayed the arrest of Cricketer Yash Dayal, who plays for Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), in connection with an FIR lodged against him for allegedly sexually exploiting a woman for 5 years.

A bench of Justice Siddhartha Varma and Justice Anil Kumar-X granted him the relief till the next date of listing by orally observing thus:

"you could have been fooled for 1 day, 2 day 3 day…but 5 years...you are entering into a relationship for 5 years...one can't be fooled for 5 years"

The FIR was registered against 27-year-old Dayal on July 6 at Indirapuram police station in Ghaziabad under section 69 (Sexual intercourse by employing deceitful means etc.) of BNS.

Dayal has been accused of sexually exploiting a woman on the pretext of marriage. According to the complainant, the two had met around five years ago, and Dayal had promised to marry her.

The alleged victim has also claimed that Dayal kept postponing her proposal to marry, and eventually, she came to know Dayal was involved with other women as well.

Senior Advocate Gopal Swaroop Chaturvedi, assisted by Advocates Gaurav Tripathi and Raghuvansh Mishra, appeared for Dayal.
