The Delhi High Court has restrained a former Relationship Manager of the ICICI Bank, who was terminated during the probation period, from making any defamatory statements/ social media posts against the bank.

Justice Amit Bansal issued notice on the bank's plea and sought the former employee's response within four weeks.

Meanwhile, stating that ICICI Bank is a “reputed Bank” and the various statements as well as social media posts made by the defendant are “intended to damage” its reputation, the Court passed an interim injunction order in the bank's favour.

As per the plea, the defendant started making abusive and defamatory statements against the bank on various social media platforms after his discharge from the service.

It is alleged that the defendant has posted over 100 videos on various social media platforms, disparaging the bank.

The bank has also placed on Court's record a pen-drive containing screen recordings of videos from conciliatory proceedings conducted between the parties, where the defendant allegedly made abusive and defamatory remarks against the bank employees and published the same on his 'X' account.

“Irreparable harm and injury would be caused to the plaintiffs if the defendant continues to make such defamatory statements,” the Court said and listed the matter on 15th January, 2026.
