The Delhi High Court on Thursday rapped yoga guru Baba Ramdev over the Sharbat-Jihad controversy, saying that he lives in his own world and is not in anyone's control.
Justice Amit Bansal made the remark after he was informed that Ramdev again published a video containing objectionable remarks against Hamdard's Rooh Afza product.
The Court found Ramdev to be prima facie in contempt of its previous order wherein the yoga guru was directed that he shall not issue any statements or advertisements or social media posts in the future which Hamdard is aggrieved of.
“In view of the last order, his affidavit as well as this video are prima facie in contempt. I will issue a contempt notice now. We are just calling him here…,” the Court said.
The matter will now be heard at 2:15 PM.
Earlier, Ramdev had informed Court that all the advertisements, whether print or videos, against Hamdard National Foundation India's Rooh Afza product will be taken down.
The Court was hearing Hamdard's suit against Patanjali and Ramdev over the controversy of Yoga guru's “Sharbat Jihad” remark against Rooh Afza product.
Earlier this month, Ramdev, while promoting Patanjali's rose sharbat, claimed that the money earned from Hamdard's rooh afza is used to build madrasas and mosques. Later, Ramdev defended his remark and said that he did not name any brand or community.
Hamdard filed the suit against Ramdev seeking removal of the Yoga Guru's videos on the remark from social media.
Previously, Justice Bansal rapped Ramdev over his remarks against Rooh Afza, saying that it shocked its conscience and was indefensible.
