Malayalam actor Sreenath Bhasi has filed a petition before the Kerala High Court seeking anticipatory bail after a woman arrested near Alappuzha for allegedly possessing hybrid ganja worth approximately Rs. 2 Crore reportedly revealed that movie actors Sreenath Bhasi and Shine Tom Chacko were her clients.

As per reports, the Excise Department's Special Investigation Team apprehended Thasleema Sulthana aka Christina and Feeroze with 3kgs of ganja. After the arrest, the Excise Deputy Commissioner reportedly said that there were WhatsApp chats and other digital records indicating the involvement of film personalities.

Sreenath Bhasi has not yet been arraigned as an accused but he has approached the High Court apprehending implication and arrest.

In his petition, he submitted that he got the number of Christeena when she introduced herself as his fan in a film shooting set at Kozhikkode. Thereafter, she called him and offered him cannabis. The actor says that he thought that she was trying to tease him and left the call. Later, he got a WhatsApp message from her asking “do the petitioner needs”. The petitioner submitted that thinking she was still teasing him, he replied “wait” and left the conversation there.
