Maharashtra National Law University Mumbai (MNLU Mumbai), in collaboration with Yuvak Biradari (Bharat), and in association with the Pro Bono Club & Centre for Applied Research in Public Health Law, is organizing “The International Policy Drafting & Presentation Competition 2025” on 13th & 14th September 2025.

Maharashtra National Law University Mumbai (MNLU Mumbai), established in 2014, is a legal education institution in India, known for its commitment to promoting quality legal education and providing an environment for learning and growth. Located in the bustling metropolis of Mumbai, the university follows the model of other National Law Universities in the country and stands as an autonomous law school.

Yuvak Biradari (Bharat), a national award-winning organization, has been working at the pan-India level since 1974, promoting humanity, nation-building, and national integration. As a social, educational, cultural, and youth movement, it strives to establish *Insaani Biradari* (Universal Brotherhood) and strengthen India's social fabric for a vibrant, prosperous, and peaceful nation. Drawing philosophical inspiration from the Preamble of the Indian Constitution and the visions of Mahatma Gandhi and Rabindranath Tagore, Biradari envisions uniting India's multicultural society as *One People, One Nation*. Inspired by Gandhi's 1942 *Bharat Chhodo* (Quit India) movement, it launched *Bharat Jodo* in 1974 to build a strong socio-cultural foundation for sustainable development.

The Pro Bono Club at Maharashtra National Law University Mumbai is a club run in association with the Nyaya Bandhu (Pro Bono Legal Services) Program of the Department of Justice, Ministry of Law and Justice. The club is a group of students who are aiding in the implementation of laws in society.

The Centre for Applied Research in Public Health Law, Rights, and Policy, established on 17th May 2023, promotes research, scholarship, and awareness in public health policies, programs, and reforms at national and global levels. Advocating for health legislation reform and system improvements, it disseminates knowledge on policy responses to health challenges and rights while ensuring compliance with fundamental rights. With a multidisciplinary approach, the Centre engages in research, debate, and consultation to identify health law challenges and drive reforms in the health sector.

The Policy Drafting Competition 2025 aims to provide a platform for students to engage in policy formulation on pressing societal issues. Participants are expected to draft policies aligned with the given themes and present them before a panel of academicians, policymakers, and legal experts.

With themes ranging from sustainable rural development and employment policies to federalism, institutional integrity, and healthcare reform, this initiative encourages participants to engage in analysis and propose solutions. By fostering dialogue and research on these issues, the competition aspires to contribute to policy discourse and social change.
