DBRANLU To Host National Workshop On Industrial Safety And Labour Code

The Centre for Labour Studies at Dr. B.R. Ambedkar National Law University (DBRANLU), Sonepat, is set to organise a One-day National Workshop titled “Industrial Safety and Labour Code” This forward-looking academic initiative seeks to foster meaningful discourse on the legal, administrative, and practical dimensions of industrial safety in India.
The workshop, scheduled to take place on 17th May 2025 (Saturday), will bring together a distinguished panel of speakers and participants. Justice Sandeep Moudgil, Judge at the Punjab and Haryana High Court, will grace the event as the Chief Guest of the ceremony. Joining him as Guests of Honour will be Dr. Arvind, Director General of the V.V. Giri National Labour Institute, Noida, Ministry of Labour & Employment, Government of India; Dr. Onkar Sharma, Advisor to the Government of India; Shri Mani Ram Sharma, IAS, Labour Commissioner and Home Secretary, Haryana; and Shri Pawan Kumar, Zonal Organising Secretary of the Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh.
The event is being led under the visionary guidance of Shri Ashok Kumar, IPS (Retd.), Vice Chancellor of DBRANLU and Former Director General of Police, Uttarakhand, who serves as the Patron-in-Chief of the event. The workshop is being shaped by the strategic leadership of Prof. (Dr.) Ashutosh Mishra, Registrar of DBRANLU and Director of the Centre for Public Policy and Good Governance, whose commitment to fostering impactful academic collaborations has been instrumental in conceptualising this initiative. The workshop is being coordinated by Dr. Balwinder Kaur, Associate Professor and Director of the Centre for Labour Studies.
This workshop will witness the participation of employers and employees from various industries located in Sonepat, Haryana, thereby creating a dynamic interface between academic experts, policymakers, industrial stakeholders, and labour representatives. By engaging diverse voices, the workshop aims to explore innovative policy solutions, share on-ground insights, and strengthen the framework for Industrial safety in the country.
