GNLU Centre for Law and Technology is organizing an Online Short-Term (1 credit) Certificate Course on "Evolution of Technology Regulation in India: Telegraphs to AI" in July, 2025.
Gujarat National Law University (GNLU) was established by the Government of Gujarat under the Gujarat National Law University Act, 2003 and is recognized by the Bar Council of India (BCI) and
University Grants Commission (UGC) having campuses at Gandhinagar and Silvasssa. GNLU is a student-centric, multidisciplinary and research-focused University, dedicated to building an environment enabling thinking on fundamental legal issues. It offers at its Gandhinagar Campus (1) B.A., LL.B. (Hon.), (2) B.Com., LL.B. (Hon.), (3) B.Sc.LL.B. (Hon.), (4) B.B.A., LL.B. (Hon.), (5) B.S.W. LL.B, (6) LL.M. and (7) Ph.D. in law and allied subjects apart from other certificate/diploma courses.
GNLU established Centre for Law and Technology, which strives to keep its stakeholders abreast with the developments in either of the fields of Science/Technology and Law. It provides a platform for the creation of the academic blend by raising awareness, holding several capacity building programs not limited to conferences, quizzes, and talks, at the University, ultimately enhancing the acumen and quality of research at regional, national and international levels. The Centre through its activities help build responsible future legal professionals acquainted with the convergence of the science/technology and law enabling them to contribute not only to the legal systems of India but of the world, at large and in general to the society, effectively as per the need of the hour.

Telegraphs and Communication Technology: Development of Communication Technology - telegraphs, telecom, mobile communication; Regulating telegraphs and new age communications”.
- For Day 2: (4:15-7:30 PM)
Satellites & Space Technology: Satellite Technology - communication, broadcasting, navigation; Legal issues - national security, satellite coordination, spectrum management.
- For Day 3: (4:15-7:30 PM)
Mobility: Automobiles - car, connected car, autonomous car; Regulating automobiles - road safety, data processing, product liability; From machine to platforms - evolving mobility regulation".
- For Day 4: (4:15-7:30 PM)
Digital Public Infrastructure: Types – Aadhaar, UPI, DEPA; Legal issues – Inclusion, Fraud prevention, Privacy and data protection; Towards tech enabled governance - regulating public utilities.
- For Day 5: (4:15-8:30 PM)
Media and AI: Media for content dissemination - mass media, social media, AI; Legal issues - Content regulation and liability, online safety, national security; Governing new avenues of content consumption.
- MCQ TEST AND DISCUSSION

Instructions
1. The Course will be held in Online Mode through CISCO-Webex.
2. The link/details of the course will be shared only with the registered participants on their registered email.
3. The last date of registration is 17 July, 2025.
4. The interested shall register themselves at the link provided in the pamphlet/webpage and submit the applicable registration fee.
5. The e-Certificate shall be printed based on the details provided in the form available at the link in the pamphlet/webpage. No change at any later stage shall be entertained.
6. The registered participants shall ensure that while attending the online Course, the registered email id and full name (as filled in the form) is being used, else the e-certificate shall not be issued.
7. The registered participants can undertake the course in two modes: (i) With evaluation - MCQ Test and (ii) Without evaluation. The participants opting for first mode will get the certificates reflecting the secured marks.
8. The e-Certificate, irrespective of the mode, shall be issued only to those participants, who are attending the full Course. However, in order to take care of the technical difficulties, if any, faced by registered participants, the e-Certificate shall be issued to those attending minimum 85% of each session of the Course.
