    In a significant contribution to Indian constitutional literature, Decoding the Fundamental Rights: A Guide to Understanding the Core Principles, co-authored by Dr. Rajput Shraddha Bhausingh, Assistant Professor of Law at HNLU, and Akshit Dwivedi, a student of the HNLU, Raipur.

    This pioneering work offers a comprehensive, lucid, and accessible examination of the Fundamental Rights under Part III of the Indian Constitution. Through doctrinal insight, landmark case analysis, and conceptual clarity, the book aims to empower students, legal professionals, and public law enthusiasts with a deeper understanding of India's constitutional guarantees.

    About the Authors

    Dr. Rajput Shraddha Bhausingh, an eminent academician, brings to this project her vast experience and deep expertise in constitutional law. A Ph.D. holder from HNLU and a UGC-NET qualified scholar since 2010, she also holds an LL.M from Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University and an LL.B from Dr. Ambedkar Law College, Aurangabad. Her academic portfolio includes a rich repertoire of courses taught—ranging from Legal Method, Constitutional Governance, Fundamental Rights, Federalism, to Environmental Law, Media and Law, and Professional Ethics.

    Her scholarly contributions include peer-reviewed journal publications and papers in national and international conferences. Some of her notable works include:

    She has presented and published papers on diverse themes such as green federalism, gender equality, media consolidation, urban-rural development, and the 73rd and 74th Amendments of the Indian Constitution.

    A Student-Scholar Collaboration

    Co-author Akshit Dwivedi, a dedicated law student at HNLU, has distinguished himself through academic research and social engagement. He has actively contributed to a range of legal aid and public service initiatives. His journey reflects a consistent dedication to constitutional values, grassroots legal awareness, and scholarly exploration.

    Akshit has served as:

    1. Student Coordinator of the Pro Bono Club, HNLU

    2. Elected Representative of the Legal Aid and Social Service Committee

    3. Member of the Progressive Constitutional Law Society, HNLU Chapter

    4. CEO of the International Sai Sewa Trust (NGO) since December 2024

    His service record includes years of legal literacy work with the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Kaushambi, and active participation in child rights initiatives by the National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR). He was honored as a “Child Rights Champion” by NCPCR.

    Decoding the Fundamental Rights is a rigorous yet accessible text aimed at simplifying the core constitutional principles enshrined in Part III of the Indian Constitution. Each Article is examined in depth, focusing on conceptual clarity, doctrinal evolution, landmark judgments, and its significance in the broader framework of constitutional law. The work also contextualizes legal doctrines that have shaped India's rights jurisprudence and seeks to make these ideas accessible to both students and practitioners.

    The Indian Constitution guarantees six fundamental rights to its citizens, enshrined in Part III (Articles 12-35). These rights are enforceable and include the right to equality, freedom, protection against exploitation, freedom of religion, cultural and educational rights, and the right to constitutional remedies.
