HPNLU Commemorates Earth Day With Campus Clean-Up And Poster Competition

On the occasion of World Earth Day, observed on 22nd April 2025, the Rotaract Club of Himachal Pradesh National Law University, Shimla, under the aegis of Prof. (Dr.) Priti Saxena, Vice- Chancellor, HPNLU, organized a Cleanliness Drive and poster making competition within the university campus. The initiative aimed to raise awareness about environmental protection, sustainability, and the collective responsibility of individuals towards preserving nature.

The event was attended by Vice-Chancellor of HPNLU, Prof. (Dr.) Preeti Saxena, who attended as the Chief Guest. Her presence and words of encouragement served to inspire the participants and underscore the importance of environmental consciousness in academic institutions.

The cleanliness drive witnessed active and enthusiastic participation from students, faculty members, and non-teaching staff, all of whom came together in a united effort to promote cleanliness and advocate for a more sustainable and eco-friendlier lifestyle.

Complementing the Cleanliness Drive, a Poster Making Competition was also organized on the theme “Sustainability, Climate Action, and Earth Preservation.” The competition saw spirited participation from students across various academic batches, who expressed their thoughts and concerns regarding environmental issues through art and design. The event was organized by the Club Coordinator, Dr. Hari Chand, Club President, Mr. Ritik Jinata, Secretary, Ms. Sonia Singh Rana, and all members of the Rotaract Club.

This initiative served not only as a step towards environmental stewardship but also as a reminder of the role each individual plays in the protection and preservation of our planet.
