6th Late Sh. Thakur Kashmir Singh Memorial Moot Court Competition At UILS, Shimla

The Institute of Legal Studies (UILS), Himachal Pradesh University, Ava-Lodge, Shimla, has announced the commencement of the 6th Late Sh. Thakur Kashmir Singh Memorial Moot Court Competition, scheduled to be held from October 30 to November 1, 2025.

This annual event is regarded as a platform for aspiring legal professionals to refine their advocacy skills and apply legal principles in practice. Participants will engage in simulated courtroom proceedings, presenting arguments on a complex legal proposition. The competition aims to foster academic excellence, legal research, and advocacy—qualities essential for a legal career.

The competition will take place at the UILS Campus, Chaura Maidan, near Oberoi Cecil, Shimla. Registration is open to students of recognized law institutions and will close on October 20, 2025.

By providing a stage for young advocates to showcase their legal acumen, the competition not only commemorates the legacy of Late Sh. Thakur Kashmir Singh but also contributes to the advancement of legal education in the country.

• Preliminary and Quarter Finals: 31st October 2025

Format of the Competition

The competition will be conducted in the following rounds:

• Day 1 (30th October 2025): Inaugural Ceremony and Researcher's Test
• Day 2 (31st October 2025): Preliminary Rounds (Rounds 1 & 2) and Quarter Finals
• Day 3 (1st November 2025): Semi-Finals and The Grand Finale
