NLUJAA: 6th Edition Of The Gurjeet Singh Memorial Moot Court Competition In Collaboration With Chambers Of Abhinav Mishra, Advocates & Solicitors

Moot Court Committee of National Law University and Judicial Academy, Assam are organising the 6th Edition of the Gurjeet Singh Memorial Moot Court Competition from 6th - 8th June, 2025, in collaboration with the Chambers of Abhinav Mishra as our Title Sponsor, Lexcuria Lawyers as our Industry Engagement Partner, and SCC Online and SCC Times as our Knowledge and Media Partners respectively.
The Gurjeet Singh Memorial National Moot Court Competition is organised by the National Law University and Judicial Academy of Assam in memory of founder, Late Prof. (Dr.) Gurjeet Singh.
National Law University and Judicial Academy, Assam (NLUJAA) was established by the Government of Assam by way of the enactment of the National Law University and Judicial Academy, Assam Act, 2009 (Assam Act No. XXV of 2009).
The Chief Justice of the Gauhati High Court is the Chancellor of the University. NLUJAA promotes and makes available modern legal education and research facilities to its students, scholars, and faculty drawn from across the country, including the Northeast, hailing from different socio-economic, ethnic, religious, and cultural backgrounds.
Chambers of Abhinav Mishra, established in 2018, focuses on Insolvency, Real Estate, and Arbitration, handling Dispute Resolution, Insolvency & Restructuring, White Collar Crime, Corporate Advisory, Taxation, and more across multiple jurisdictions. Known for its appearances before Constitutional Courts and securing favourable judgments, the Chambers is committed to delivering practical, client-focused legal solutions. It also actively promotes experiential learning through webinars, moot courts, and legal awareness programs in collaboration with educational institutions nationwide.
Lexcuria Lawyers, based in New Delhi and led by Advocate-on-Record Madhumita Bhattacharjee and Advocate Atanu Saikia, is committed to delivering ethical, precise, and results-driven legal solutions across areas such as Constitutional Law, Corporate Law, Arbitration, Insolvency, Real Estate, and Criminal Law. ELIGIBILITY
The Competition is open to all students enrolled bona fide on a regular basis in an undergraduate law course conducted by any recognised Institution/College/University. A recognised Institution/College/University shall be entitled to send only one team to the Competition. Each team shall comprise a minimum of two members and a maximum of three members.
AWARDS AND PRIZES
The rewards for the participants stand as follows:
- Best Team Award: Cash prize of INR 1,00,000/- along with 1 year of SCC Online subscription worth ₹72000/-
- Runners-Up Team Award: Cash prize of INR 60,000/-
- The Best Memorial Award (Petitioner): Cash prize of INR 25,000/-
- The Best Memorial Award (Respondent): Cash prize of INR 25,000/-
- The Best Speaker Award: Cash prize of INR 20,000/-
- The Best Researcher Award: Cash prize of INR 20,000/-
TIMELINE OF THE MOOT
- Deadline for Registration: 28th May, 2025
- Deadline for seeking clarifications: 25th May, 2025
- Release of Clarifications: 26th May, 2025
- Submission of Memorials: 2nd June, 2025
- Oral Rounds: 6th to 8th June, 2025
REGISTRATION FEE:
