    Established by the Parliament of India under Act No. 31 of 2020, Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India, Rashtriya Raksha University (RRU), focuses on professional security, strategic and police education, research and training through its civilian, security and police faculty, human resource, participants and students in an intellectually stimulating and disciplined environment with a network promoting sharing and exchange of ideas.

    The School of Criminal Law and Military Law envisions operating following global practices and industry standards of legal education through research, innovation, and extension activities for the advancement of knowledge, research, training, and scholarship in criminal and security laws.

    The 2nd RRU International Moot Court Competition (RIMC 2025), hosted by the School of Criminal Law and Military Law, Rashtriya Raksha University, will be held from 14–16 November 2025 at the RRU Gandhinagar campus. After the inaugural edition, RIMC returns with its flagship event with the theme “International Law and Global Security.”

    Participants will argue before a simulated International Court of Justice on contemporary issues such as dual-use trade, third-country sanctions, and compliance with international court rulings. The event offers cash prizes, international scholarships, and a mooting experience judged by global experts in international law. RIMC 2025 invites law students from across the world to engage, compete, and contribute to global legal international law discourse.

    Eligibility

    A person may be a team member if they are pursuing a degree or similar graduate or postgraduate qualification or training in law, or in a field related to international law, or in international relations, provided that they have received, or will receive while participating, adequate instruction in international law.

    For Indian teams, participation is restricted to law students pursuing their three-year or five-year L.L.B. degree course from any recognized institution in India. Students pursuing their L.L.M. and Diploma courses are not eligible for participation.

    A recognized College / Institution / University is entitled to send a maximum of 1 (one) team to the competition. Each team shall comprise a minimum of two members and a maximum of three members. Teams shall not disclose their identity or that of their institution. However, the speakers may disclose their names only to the bench during the oral arguments.

    Registration fee and accommodation fee is required to be paid only once for the entire contingent of three team members and an accompanying coach, if any. Only the teams making it through to the In-Person Oral Rounds will be required to make the payment for accommodation.

    Registration/Submission Procedure

    • Institutions must register via the official Google Form: Registration Link
    • Each institution can send only one team (2–3 members).
    • The top 24 teams will be selected based on memorial submissions.
    • Only selected teams need to pay the registration and accommodation fees.

    • Proposition & Brochure Release- 15 July 2025
    • Registration Deadline- 5 September 2025
    • Memorial Submission Deadline- 20 September 2025
    • Team Confirmation for Oral Rounds- 15 October 2025
    • Oral rounds at RRU Gandhinagar Campus- 14-16 November 2025

    Fee Details

    • Registration Fee (per team): ₹3000 (USD 35)
    • Accommodation Fee (optional): ₹5000 (USD 59)

    Note: Only applicable for teams qualifying for the oral rounds.
