    In its efforts to strengthen its commitments towards developing potential research, foster academic collaboration, ensure capacity building and disseminate knowledge in the domain of International Trade Law and Policy, the Dharmashastra National Law University, Jabalpur (DNLU) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Centre for WTO Studies (CWS), Centre for Research in International Trade (CRIT), Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT), an autonomous body set up under the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India, New Delhi, on 3rd March, 2025.

    This partnership aims to:

    • Facilitate joint academic initiatives, research projects, and policy analysis in trade law.
    • Organize capacity-building programs, training workshops, and certificate courses for students and professionals.
    • Enhance legal scholarship through collaborative publications and research symposiums.
    • Develop a robust knowledge ecosystem by engaging with national and international institutions.

    With DNLU's dedicated Centre for Studies in International Trade and Investment Law (CITIL) and CWS's expertise in WTO negotiations and trade policy, this collaboration will bridge academia and practice, contributing to India's global trade discourse. Under the MoU, CITIL would be the DNLU's nodal agency to execute many research and academic extension activities.

    The MoU was signed by the Vice Chancellor of DNLU, Prof. Manoj Kumar Sinha and Dr. Pritam Banerjee, Head and Professor of CWS, in the presence of Mr. Utkarsh K. Mishra, Director, CITIL and Assistant Professor (Contract Law), DNLU, Jabalpur and Dr. Amit Randev, Consultant (Legal), CWS.

    This MoU represents a unique opportunity for students and legal researchers across India, bringing a wealth of potential opportunities in the field of international trade law and policy.
