    HPNLU Rotaract Club Organizes 'High On Hills, Not On Drugs' Trek

    In an initiative to promote wellness, fitness, and a drug-free lifestyle, the Rotaract Club of HPNLU, Shimla, under the aegis of Prof. (Dr.) Priti Saxena, Vice-Chancellor, HPNLU, Shimla, organized a trekking event titled “High on Hills, Not on Drugs” from Marhog to Dhami, Shimla. The event aimed to inspire students and participants to embrace adventure, physical well-being, and mindfulness while raising awareness about the harmful effects of drug abuse.

    The event, held amidst the scenic beauty of the Shimla hills, brought together students and volunteers from across the university to foster a collective effort for spreading the message of a healthy lifestyle. The theme of the event, “Choose fitness, not addiction,” resonated strongly with the participants, inspiring them to make conscious choices for their physical and mental well-being.

    The trekking journey from Marhog to Dhami was an opportunity for the participants to immerse themselves in nature and reflect on the significance of fitness and mindfulness in daily life. The initiative also aimed at engaging students in physical activity, encouraging them to adopt healthier habits and say no to substance abuse.

    The event witnessed participation from students and Rotaract Club members, including President Ritik Jinata, Secretary Sonia Singh Rana, and Project Head Rajat Chaudhary, Stanzin, Abhay, Fuzail, Nipun, Harsh Raj, Niharika, Hia Sanmati, Annanya, Shreya, and Prashansa. The event was organized by Dr. Hari Chand, the Coordinator of the Rotaract Club at HPNLU, Shimla.

    Youth Red Cross Society & HPNLU Shimla Host Blood Donation Camp

    The Youth Red Cross Society of Himachal Pradesh National Law University, Shimla, in collaboration with the Himachal Pradesh Red Cross State Branch, organised a blood donation camp on April 9, 2025, at the University campus. The initiative aimed to promote the spirit of voluntary service and encourage awareness around the importance of regular blood donation.


    The Chief Guest of the event, Prof. (Dr.) Priti Saxena, Vice-Chancellor, HPNLU, Shimla in her address, lauded the efforts of the Youth Red Cross Society and emphasised the critical role that young individuals play in nation-building through community-oriented initiatives. Prof. (Dr.) S.S. Jaswal, Registrar, HPNLU, Shimla also attended the event and appreciated the collaborative effort undertaken by the student body and the Red Cross.

    The blood donation camp witnessed an encouraging response from the University fraternity. A total of 87 units of blood were collected from 135 registered donors. The donors included students, faculty members, administrative staff, and other volunteers, all of whom demonstrated remarkable enthusiasm and a sense of civic responsibility.


    The medical team included Dr. Payal, Archana, Kusum Thakur, Mr. Rajan Bhimta, Mr. Sunil, and Mr. Rakesh, whose medical assistance played a vital role in the success of the event. Additionally, Mr. Surinder Gautam, Assistant Secretary of the District Red Cross Society, and Mr. Virender Bisht, Training Coordinator of the Himachal Pradesh State Red Cross Society, extended their valuable support and coordination.

    The event was organized by Dr. Rohit Sharma, Coordinator, Youth Red Cross Society, HPNLU, Romil Chawla, President of the Youth Red Cross Society, and Parul Bhalla, General Secretary along with the medical team from the Himachal Pradesh Red Cross State Branch.
