Prof. (Dr.) Devinder Singh Appointed As Vice Chancellor Of DBRANLU, Sonepat

Dr. B.R. Ambedkar National Law University (DBRANLU), Sonepat, has officially welcomed Prof. (Dr.) Devinder Singh as its new Vice Chancellor. A distinguished academician and legal scholar, Prof. Singh's appointment marks a step forward for the university in its pursuit of academic excellence and institutional growth.
Prof. (Dr.) Devinder Singh was welcomed by the Registrar, Prof. (Dr.) Ashutosh Mishra, along with faculty and staff of the university. His joining has generated excitement within the legal academic community, given his reputation and experience in the fields of Constitutional Law, Election Law, Family Law, Human Rights, and Administrative Law.
An Academic with Over 25 Years of Experience With a teaching career spanning over two decades, Prof. Singh has held several academic and administrative positions. Prior to his appointment at DBRANLU, he served as Professor at the Department of Laws, Panjab University, Chandigarh, and was the Dean of the School of Law at Maharaja Agrasen University, Baddi. He also founded The Constitutional Club for Public Policy & Governance at Panjab University and served as Editor-in-Chief for both the P.U. Law Times Newsletter and the Panjab University Law Review. A Contributor to Legal Scholarship Prof. Singh's academic contributions include authoring and editing over 10 seminal books such as Human Rights: Women and Law, An Introduction to Administrative Law, and Law, Religion and Secularism. He has revised texts like Administrative Law by Dr. Paras Diwan and Indian Contract Act by Dr. J.D. Jain. His publication record boasts over 70 research papers in reputed national and international journals.
A participant in global academic discourse, Prof. Singh has represented India in conferences in South Africa, Thailand, Rome, and Hong Kong. His research projects, funded by bodies like the Punjab and Haryana High Court and the National Commission for Women, address contemporary social issues including child labour, NRI marriages, and the psychosocial effects of drug addiction.
With more than 160 keynote lectures, 54 memberships on statutory and academic bodies, and stewardship of 75+ academic events at Panjab University, Prof. Singh brings leadership to DBRANLU. His tenure is expected to catalyse both academic innovation and infrastructural growth. Speaking on his vision for the university, Prof. Singh emphasized a holistic approach:
“My goal is to elevate DBRANLU into a national hub of excellence in legal education, research, and policy advocacy, while strengthening its community outreach and global collaborations.”
