    e-Sanad portal – a digital platform for online verification, attestation and apostille of documents by Ministry of External Affairs, Govt. of India was launched in Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law, Punjab on 22nd April 2025 at an event held in the University Conference Hall. e-Sanad is a public centric portal which would simplify the process of verification of documents by Document Issuing Authorities (DIAs), first level of attestation by concerned state government departments and final attestation / apostille by CPV Division, Ministry of External Affairs, New Delhi. The existing manual system of attestation / apostille is a convoluted and time-consuming process due to personal visits of the applicants to DIAs, concerned state government departments and CPV Division, MEA. e-Sanad would provide a faceless, cashless and paperless services to the applicants for attestation / apostille of all types of documents like personal as well as educational documents / transcripts.aIn the Educational Category of documents, Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law, Punjab became the fourth Educational institute in Punjab, to onboard on e-Sanad to provide this facility for the welfare of their students.

    For the launch of e-Sanad in Rajiv Gandhi National University of Punjab, Sh. Sanyam Aggarwal, IAS, Director, Department of Higher Education, Govt. of Punjab; Sh. Vivek Verma, State Informatics Officer, Punjab; Sh. Raj Kumar Tickoo, Senior Director (IT) NIC, Punjab and Ms. Kirti Mahajan, Technical Director, NIC, Punjab were present at the event. Ms. Kirti Mahajan, conducted a workshop on the working of the platform and provided training to the examination wing and the IT wing of the University. Besides the Officers of DHE and NIC, Prof (Dr.) Jai S. Singh, Vice Chancellor, RGNUL along with other senior faculty members were also present for the event.
