NLU Odisha 2025 Graduating Batch Secures 50 Job Offers

The graduating 5 years LL.B. batch of 2025 from National Law University Odisha (hereinafter, 'NLUO') has secured a total of 50 jobs so far, out of the 80 students who have participated in the recruitment process.
Among the placed students, 30 students were hired by domestic law firms, 13 students were placed with banks, corporations, advisory firms and PSUs. 3 students were placed with policy think tanks and 2 students received fellowships. Additionally, 2 students have received offers to join litigation chambers. Offers received by the students were by means of campus placements, pre-placement offers secured following individual internships and others were following internships with organizations, many of them through the aid and support of the Recruitment Coordination Committee (hereinafter, 'RCC') at NLUO. The highest package stood at 22.5 Lakhs per annum while the average package stood at Rs 14.33 Lakhs per annum.
In the domain of law firms, the top recruiter for the batch was Saraf & Partners with 5 offers, followed by Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas and Argus Partners with 3 offers each. Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas, Lakshmikumaran & Sridharan, and IndusLaw extended 2 offers each. Khaitan & Co., Trilegal, JSA, Luthra and Luthra Law Offices, Wadia Ghandy & Co., S&A Law Offices, Poovaya & Co., T&S Law, Bose & Mitra, Economics Law Practice, Tatva Legal, Sagus Legal, and Casus Chambers recruited 1 student each.
Further, in the domain of corporate in-house, DWF emerged as the leading recruiter, providing 4 placement offers. Ujjivan Small Finance Bank recruited 2 students and ICICI Bank extended an offer to 1 student. Tata Power Central Odisha Distribution Limited and Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency Limited also extended 2 offers each. Welspun Group and Indian Farmers Fertiliser Cooperative Limited recruited 1 student each.
Additionally, the recruitment drive attracted participation from other organizations beyond law firms and corporate in-house roles. 2 students were selected for the Graduate Impact Leadership Program at Nation with Namo. 1 student was offered the PRS India's Legislative Assistant to the Member of Parliament (LAMP) Fellowship. The Internet Freedom Foundation also awarded the Freedom Innovation Fellowship to 1 student. Consultancy firm Varahe Analytics hired 1 student. These selections added diversity to the range of opportunities available to the graduating batch. Furthermore, several students have joined reputed litigation chambers, including the chamber of Mr. Saswat Kumar Acharya, chamber of Mr. Rishabh Dheer, etc. Several graduated students have also been offered paralegal positions, assessment and long-term internships with various reputed firms such as AZB & Partners, Saakshya Law, etc.

Over the past few years, NLUO has showcased a track record of diverse placements and has established its position as a force to be reckoned with in the legal community. Since the first class graduated in 2014, enrolment has increased year after year due to its growing and diverse alumni base, teaching staff and student body renowned for its mooting culture among law schools.
In addition to the job offers, several graduates from the 2025 batch are preparing for various competitive exams such as civil services, judiciary exams, SEBI Grade A (Legal), JAG, and the CAT. Furthermore, several students have secured admissions to King's College London, Queen Mary University of London, University of Dubai, Symbiosis Law School, as well as reputed National Law Universities like National Law School of India University and National Academy of Legal Studies and Research, to pursue higher studies.
The student members of RCC 2025 were Aditi Sinha, Ananya Gudihal, Anuj Kulhar, Chitrangda Saini, Kanishk Kaushik, Kritika Patnaik, Mohit Chand, Sachin Thakkar, Sansita Swain, Shubhangini Rathore, Soumya Sinha, Sourav Jena, Suryansh Sritej Mohanty, and Suvanwesh Das. The administration, comprising the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Ved Kumari, the Registrar, Prof. Dr. Rangin Pallav Tripathy, the Placement Coordinator, Dr. Arjyalopa Mishra (Associate Professor of Management) and faculty advisors, Dr. Nikita Pattajoshi (Assistant Professor of Law) and Dr. Mayank Mishra (Assistant Professor of Law), played a key role in facilitating the overall recruitment drive.
