A sessions court in Bengaluru on Friday (July 25) rejected for the second time the bail application filed by former JD(S) MP Prajwal Revanna accused in the alleged rape and sexual assault case.

The application was made before the sessions court after the Karnataka High Court had by its order dated July 9, relegated him to the sessions court. Granted him liberty to approach the HC after exhausting his remedy in the trial court. The trial court was also directed to dispose of within 10 days the second bail application.

Revanna had argued that he is in custody from past 1 year 2 months, though order of cognizance is passed on 09.09.2024, but the order of committal is passed on 01.07.2025, considering the stay against A-1 (HD Revanna).

Further he had said that the allegation by C.W.No.1 is in a common complaint and therefore possibility of progress in the present case, only against accused No.2 would not be possible.

The prosecution had opposed the plea.
