J&K Legal Services Authority Reschedules 2nd National Lok Adalat Over Prevailing Tensions In Area

The Jammu and Kashmir Legal Services Authority (JKLSA) has announced that the 2nd National Lok Adalat of 2025, which was earlier postponed due to the prevailing situation in the Union Territory, will now be held on Saturday, May 31, 2025.

The development comes following an improvement in the overall situation across the UT, which is now deemed conducive for organizing the Lok Adalat. The rescheduling has been approved by the Hon'ble Executive Chairman of the J&K Legal Services Authority.

In a formal communication addressed to all Principal District & Sessions Judges and Chairpersons of the District Legal Services Authorities, the Member Secretary of JKLSA has instructed officials to ensure smooth and effective conduct of the Lok Adalat across all districts.

Authorities have also been directed to undertake wide publicity of the event through print, electronic, and social media platforms to enhance public awareness and participation.

The 2nd National Lok Adalat aims to facilitate mass settlement of disputes at both pre-litigation and pending stages, reinforcing the legal services framework's commitment to providing timely and amicable justice.
