Karkardooma Court Judges Hearing Delhi Riots Cases Transferred

Two judges of the Karkardooma Court hearing the cases concerning the 2020 North-East Delhi riots have been transferred.
The two judges are Additional Sessions Judge Sameer Bajpai, who was hearing framing of charges in the larger conspiracy case related to the riots involving charges under the stringent UAPA and Additional Sessions Judge Pulastya Pramachala.
Trial in the Delhi riots larger conspiracy case had commenced last year, more than three years after registration of the FIR by Delhi Police's special cell.
ASJ Sameer Bajpai has been transferred to Saket Courts (South-East district) as ASJ(FTC)-01.
He will be replaced by judge Lalit Kumar, who is presently the judge in charge of Mediation Centre, South, Saket Courts.
ASJ Pulstya Pramachala has been transferred to Patiala House Courts as District Judge (Commercial Court)- 01.
He will be replaced by judge Praveen Singh who is presently District Judge in Tis Hazari Courts.
The transfer has been notified by the Delhi High Court today in a notification signed by Registrar General Arun Bhardwaj.
“Hon'ble the Chief Justice and Hon'ble Judges of this Court have been pleased to make the following postings/transfers in the Delhi Higher Judicial Service with immediate effect,” the notification states.
In a major reshuffle in the Delhi Higher Judicial Service, the notification mentions transfer of a total of 135 judges.
