The Kerala State Legal Services Authority (KeLSA), has launched Harmony Hub at the Kerala High Court to resolve disputes arising from human relationships.

This unique interventional program was inaugurated and launched by Hon'ble Justice A.Muhamed Mustaque (Executive Chairman of KeLSA) at the Kerala High Court on January 15, 2025.

Harmony Hub is a 'litigant friendly' initiative offering free services like Mediation, Conciliation, Counselling, Legal advice and Lok Adalats for resolution of disputes between humans before they reach the litigation stage. The aim behind Harmony Hub is to create a platform where individuals can resolve their differences through dialogue, mediation, and mutual understanding before going into the lengthy process of litigation.

Harmony Hub services assist parties in resolving domestic disputes between individuals, including those related by marriage or a relationship akin to marriage, but do address criminal matters. Many disputes arise in human relationships due to economic pressures, professional concerns or psychological imbalances which can escalate and damage human relationships. Harmony Hub seeks to address such disputes without the need of lengthy and painful processes that involves separation, stress, disagreements, and, sometimes even violence.

Individuals can access the following services from Harmony Hub through the District Legal Services Authority:

    1. Counselling Sessions For Parties
    2. Mediation Services To Resolve Disputes
    3. Legal Guidance (non-binding advice) /Legal aid
    4. Emotional Support and Wellness Programs

These services will be provided by mediators/panel lawyers, counsellors, para legal volunteers. The services are completely free of cost and parties have the freedom to opt out of the process at any stage.

The Harmony Hub ensures full confidentiality and guarantees privacy to persons for sharing their information. It is mandatory for individuals to create a space for constructive communication for resolving their disputes. Any sort of verbal or physical abuse, intimidation, or harassment is strictly prohibited and individuals are required to show respect, patience and honesty.

If parties reach an agreement through Harmony Hub, they can enter into a settlement through Lok Adalat by passing an award. This award will be legally enforceable and binding, which would have the same effect as that of a decree from a Civil Court. This is thus more quick, easy, cost effective and provides reconciliation without prolonged litigations.
