Former Chief Judge of the Municipal Court of Providence, Frank Caprio, famous for his role on the TV show 'Caught in Providence,' has passed away at the age of 88.

In a judicial career that spanned almost four decades, Caprio featured on the popular TV show 'Caught in Providence' and became known as the "nicest judge in the world" for his warm and welcoming nature in dealing with litigants in his courtroom.

Caprio gained worldwide recognition due to his unique way of dealing with cases, with over 3.4 million people from across the world following him on Instagram.

In various clips from the show, Caprio can be seen being compassionate with the litigants and showing kindness for the situation of those before him.

On one of the clips from the TV show, Caprio can be seen adjudicating on a red-light violation by a Vietnam War veteran who served in Vietnam from 1969-71. "I have a really soft spot for veterans...and especially Vietnam veterans...during the War, I was a teacher...one of my students enlisted in the war after graduation...in four months he was dead...I am not going to charge you for this. We will honour him with a $30 cheque, and your case will be dismissed," he had said.

In another clip, while dealing with the case of a 96-year-old man who was charged with a school zone violation for overspeeding in a school zone while taking his handicapped son to the doctor for his cancer treatment, he said, "You are a good man...you are what America is all about, Here you are in your 90s, still taking care of your family...I wish you all the best. I wish the best for your son...your case is dismissed. Good luck to you, god bless you."
