Centre Notifies Transfer Of 11 High Court Judges

The Central government on Tuesday (October 14) notified the transfer of 11 high court judges to various high courts across the country.

As per the notifications:

1. Rajasthan High Court judges Justice Avneesh Jhingan and Justice Dinesh Mehta have been transferred to Delhi High Court.

2. Delhi High Court judges Justice Arun Monga and Justice Tara Vitasta Ganju has been transferred to the Rajasthan and Karnataka High Courts respectively.

3. Kerala High Court judge Justice C Sudha has also been transferred to Delhi High Court

4. Gujarat High Court judge Justice Cheekati Manavendranath Roy has been transferred to the Andhra Pradesh High Court

5. Allahabad High Court judge Justice Donadi Ramesh has been transferred to the Andhra Pradesh High Court

6. Gujarat High Court judge Justice Sandeep N Bhatt has been transferred to the Madhya Pradesh High Court

7. Allahabad High Court judge Justice Sanjay Kumar Singh has been transferred to the Patna High Court

8.Calcutta High Court judge Justice Subhendu Samanta has been transferred to the Andhra Pradesh High Court

9. Madras High Court judge Justice J Nisha Banu has been transferred to the Kerala High Court. She is presently the senior most woman judge of the Madras High Court.

For context, the Supreme Court collegium had in August recommended the transfer of 14 judges across various High Courts. The move involved judges from Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Madras, Rajasthan, Delhi, Allahabad, Gujarat, Kerala, Calcutta, Andhra Pradesh, and Patna High Courts.
