SC Registrar Writes To Transport Commissioner Seeking Allotment Of Specific Number For Ex-CJI Chandrachud's New Benz Car

A Supreme Court registrar has written to the Delhi transport commissioner seeking the allotment of a specific registration number for former Chief Justice of India D Y Chandrachud's new Mercedes (Benz E220) car, reported the PTI.

The registrar also requested the Transport Commissioner to do the allotment expeditiously and to inform the registrar about the development. As per the Press Trust of India, the letter was sent on July 28.

CJI DY Chandrachud demitted office on November 10, 2024 after a term of about two years.
