    A three Judge Bench of the Supreme Court to hear the cases relating to stray dogs today

    A bench comprising Justice Vikram Nath, Justice Sandeep Mehta and Justice NV Anjaria will hear the matter.

    The directions to remove the stray dogs were passed by a bench comprising Justice JB Pardiwala and Justice R Mahadevan on August 11. This 2-judge bench had earlier (July 28) taken suo motu cognizance of the issue based on a Times of India report titled "In a city hounded by strays, kids pay price".

      Singhvi: 6 orders of the supreme court say that ABC Rules should be followed and sterilize dogs in a humane manner and rehabilitate them. Not like this within 24 hours you start picking up the dogs.

      Singhvi: Mr. Mehta created preemptive prejudice. The government in the parliament has answered that there have been zero cases of dog bites in Delhi this year.

      Senior Advocate Abhishek Manu Singhvi: with the best of the intentions the order really puts the horse before the cart. If the shelters existed then the directions would not be a problem.
