Students vs UGC: Live Updates From Karnataka HC Hearing

University: will be who will monitor the students who opted for online exams.

HC asks, can you have both physical and online exams?.

Counsel for University opens arguments :

There are 70,000 students who will be appearing for exams and around 1 lakh students who have backlog will be appearing.

First issue will be the distribution of exam papers.  

Adv Bhat says 12 colleges affiliated to VTU are allowed to hold online exams

HC says,  "they will have to conduct arrangement for offline and online exams. Let us hear the University what they have to say". 

Adv Bhat : Conduct offline exams in addition to online exams. The exams are scheduled on August 25. 

HC raises a query : Are these guidelines issued to the University?

Adv Bhat: Yes. UGC has only decided to hold the exams 

Adv Bhat says all options are available. He refers to guidelines released by Union Ministry of Human Resources for conduct of examinations. 

HC says, point out from the UGC guidelines where this option is made available? 

Adv Bhat: I am seeking the option of exams also through online
