      Amit Shah says the Opposition is trying to create a narrative that the Bill is anti-Muslim to gain votes for political interest.

      Amit Shah says he wants to clarify to all Muslims that no non-Muslim will be allowed to be a part of waqf. Waqf and Waqf Board are different. Waqf will be still managed by muttawali.

      Anurag Thakur (BJP) says the Opposition needs to decide if they want to decide their loyalty towards the Constitution of India or the waqf.

      "This is India, not Pakistan or Taliban, here the Babasaheb's Constitution will work and not the edict of the Mughals," Thakur says.

      Thakur says India witnessed a partition in 1947 because of one party and the Gov will not allow another partition because of property and land "jihad"

      "In Modi's tenure, there will be one law, one constitution and one India and there is a reason for it-we are safe if we are one"

      Imran Masood (INC) says Gov is saying non-Muslims should be included, but only Muslims understand what waqf is.

      Masood says the provision on a wrongful claim of waqf is drafted with a purpose, which can be seen in Uttar Pradesh where out of 14,500 hectare land of waqf 11,400 have been declared as Gov land. He adds these are lands where prominent shrines are there

      Arvind Gangat Sawant,(ShivSenaUBT), says he was a part of the JPC and unfortunately, there was no discussion clause by clause on the Bill till the very end.

      Sawant says since two non-Muslims are being included in the waqf, he fears the Gov will bring non-Hindus to the Hindu mandirs and charitable trusts. He adds, it can happen to Christians, Sikhs and other communities as well

      Tenneti says in light with TDP's commitment towards minority rights, some flexibility should be given to State Governments in deciding the composition of waqf boards in framing the Rules, given that Andhra Pradesh has enacted Andhra Pradesh Hindu Charitable and Religious Endowments Act permitting religious autonomy

      Krishna Prasad Tenneti, TDP says they suggested 3 amendments including prospective application of the 'waqf by user' provision.

      Tenneti says all existing waqf property without a waqf deed will be protested. By this amendment, TDP ensured the welfare of the Muslims.

      On wrongful claims of waqf property, he says TDP moved an amendment replacing Collector to any higher ranking officer to handle this dispute.

      It should be noted that JPC has also recommended this.
