The IDIA TNNLU Chapter, in collaboration with KRIA Law, is organizing the Essay Writing Competition 2025, open to school and college students across India. The competition aims to encourage young minds to showcase their analytical and writing skills on contemporary issues. Cash prizes await the winners, offering both recognition and reward for their efforts. The last date to register is 20th August 2025.
Increasing Diversity by Increasing Access (IDIA) TNNLU Chapter, is a national non-profit organisation that identifies and empowers students from underprivileged and marginalised backgrounds to pursue legal education, with the aim of creating community leaders and change agents within the legal system.
This competition is organised in collaboration with KRIA Law, a Chennai-based full-service law firm with a focus on intellectual property and information technology, litigation & dispute resolution, commercial, taxation, competition and anti-trust and general civil disputes.
Details of the Event:
The IDIA TNNLU Essay Writing Competition, 2025 invites school and college students to explore themes centred on education, inclusivity, and access to justice through writing.
This competition is a fundraiser where all proceeds directly support the legal education of underprivileged students trained by IDIA.
Eligibility Criteria and Themes
The competition is open to three categories with varying themes.
Category 1: (Grade 6–8)
- Education for All: Why Every Child Deserves a Chance to Learn
- Breaking Barriers: How We Can Make Schools More Inclusive for Everyone
Category 2: (Grade 9–12)
- Bridging the Gap: The Role of Technology in Making Education Accessible
- Overcoming Obstacles: How Can Schools Support Students with Disabilities?
Category 3: (College Students-Both UG and PG)
- Legal Education and Social Mobility: Can Law Schools Drive Change?
- From Policy to Practice: Evaluating the Effectiveness of Inclusivity Measures in Higher Education

- School Students: ₹200

Note: All proceeds from the Competition will be utilised for the objectives of training and supporting students by the IDIA TNNLU Chapter.

Prizes upto 10,000 will be awarded to winners across all categories! E-certificates will also be provided.
Word Limit
- School Students: Up to 800 words
- College Students: 1500–2000 words
Note: Submissions must be original, unpublished works in English only. Each participant can submit only once.
