7th NLIU-Singhania & Partners National Client Counselling Competition, 2025

The National Law Institute University is one of the law schools in the field of legal education in India. NLIU is known for its administration of legal competitions across various law schools.

The NLIU-MCA is organising the seventh edition of the NLIU–Singhania & Partners National Client Counselling Competition, scheduled to take place in person from 3rd to 5th October, 2025. As one of the client counselling competitions in India, it has drawn participation from universities across the country, establishing itself as an event in the legal calendar.The MCA, with every successive edition of this competition, hopes to provide every participant with an experience and a platform to express their zeal and rigour in respect to the legal sphere.

The competition is organised annually in partnership with Singhania & Partners LLP as the joint organiser and official institutional partner of the competition. With a pan-India presence, Singhania & Partners LLP is one of the law firms in the country and is known for its expertise in various areas of the law. As the competition is structured to enable participants to understand client concerns and provide legal solutions, the partnership with Singhania & Partners LLP will contribute to the organisation of the competition.

Being one of the client counselling competitions organised in the country, the final rounds of the sixth edition were judged by a panel comprising Justice Vivek Agarwal (Judge, High Court of Madhya Pradesh), Justice Vishal Dhagat (Judge, High Court of Madhya Pradesh) and Mr. Ravi Singhania (Managing Partner, Singhania & Partners LLP). The valedictory ceremony was graced by the presence of Justice J.K. Maheshwari (Judge, Supreme Court of India) and Justice (Retd.) Suresh Kumar Kait (Former Chief Justice, High Court of Madhya Pradesh).

Format of the Competition

NLIU, Bhopal invites institutions to participate in this experience. The competition shall be organised in a physical mode. There is a maximum cap of 20 teams. The teams shall be selected on a first-come, first-served basis. Please note that a maximum of two teams are allowed per institution, subject to the prior approval of the organisers via email. The Registration Fee for the competition is INR 10,000/- for a 2-member team. Both the team members shall participate as counsels in the competition.

Important Dates

  • Last Date for Provisional Registration: 18th September, 2025
  • Last Date for Final Registration: 26th September, 2025
  • Release of the Team Codes and Pools: 28th September, 2025
  • Physical Oral Rounds: 3rd to 5th October, 2025

Venue

The competition will be organised in a physical mode at the NLIU Campus in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh.

Registration Procedure

  • The institutions can register themselves for the Competition, provisionally through their designated Moot Court Association by filling the Google Form attached.
  • Each institution may register up to two teams, subject to the availability of slots after provisional registration. In order to register a second team, the institution must write to us in advance and obtain prior permission.
