NHRC Takes Suo Motu Cognizance Of Jaipur Hospital Fire, Seeks Report From Rajasthan Govt Within 2 Weeks
National Human Rights Commission (“NHRC”) took suo motu cognizance of the fire incident at the trauma centre ICU at the Sawai Man Singh Hospital in Jaipur, Rajasthan, run by the Government.
The incident that took place in the intervening night between October 5 and October 6, 2025, resulted in the death of eight patients and critically injured other three.
NHRC has issued notices to the Chief Secretary of Rajasthan as well as the DGP, seeking submission of a detailed report on the matter within a period of 2 weeks.
The report shall also include the status of compensation awarded to the relatives of the victims.
