In a significant step towards transparency and boosting public confidence in the judiciary, all Judges of the Supreme Court have agreed to make the declaration of their assets publicly available.

At a full-court meeting held on April 1, the judges decided to disclose their assets to the Chief Justice of India, with the declarations to be uploaded on the Supreme Court's official website, sources informed LiveLaw. The decision follows controversy over the alleged discovery of cash at the official premises of Justice Yashwant Varma while he was serving as a judge of the Delhi High Court.

The specific modalities for publishing the judges' asset declarations will be finalized in due course.

Presently, all Judges of the Supreme Court have submitted their declaration of assets. However, these declarations have not been made public.
